Sushi Set - Celadon

This sushi set is presented in a beautiful, subtle green color reminiscent of the renowned celadon pottery produced in China, Korea, and Japan during the middle ages. This pottery is known for its elegant, beautiful shapes and the beauty of its glazes, which range from bluish-green to olive or gray green.

Sushi has become the world’s best-known food from Japan. The origins of sushi can be traced back over 13 centuries, when fish and rice were combined with salt, then left to ferment for one year or even longer with the goal of preserving the fish. Over time, techniques evolved into the sushi styles found today, most often Nigiri with a thin slice of raw fish on a ball of vinegar-flavored rice, and Maki with fish and rice rolled in seaweed.

Although sushi is relatively simple to make at home, highly trained sushi chefs elevate this simple dish to an art form with unusual items and elaborate presentations. These chefs train for many years in order to become true masters of the art of sushi.
