Pewter
Pewter should be hand-washed, as many detergents can dull the natural patina. The pewter may be occasionally lightly polished with superfine steel wool and soap. Aggressive polishing could result in significantly altering the look of your pewter. Do not put in the dishwasher.

Lacquerware
With proper care, lacquerware will serve you for many years. Simply clean with plain water. Minor scratches may be polished out using a good-quality liquid or paste lacquer polish.
Lacquerware is generally heat and alcohol resistant.

Black Clay
First Use: Wash the entire dish with hot water to remove any dust. To cure the dish, fill it ¾ full of water and place it uncovered in a 400 degree Fahrenheit oven for 30 minutes.
A quick soak in the sink followed by a wipe down with a sponge is all that is necessary. An overnight soak for stuck-on food works well. Avoid abrasive cleaners and scrubs. Let the piece dry thoroughly before storing. The cookware will naturally retain some flavoring from use.
Hand wash. Do not place in the dishwasher.
Like cast iron, occasionally wipe down your dish with vegetable oil. This will help maintain the sheen of the original finish. Portions of the cookware may redden with age.

Sushi Sets
The plates and bowls can be put in the dishwasher, but hand washing is preferred. The chopsticks are wood, and should be hand washed.
